Community History/Location
Originally, Baan Rai Kong Khing was located in Moo 3, Tambon Nong Khwai, Hang Dong, Chiang Mai. There were 3 communities at that time: Baan Na Buk, Baan Rai and Baan Kong Khing. In the past, there was no road cut through. People traveled on foot and worked as farmers for their living. The area was also divided by the river, which made it difficult to travel between some areas even though they were near each other. Later, Baan Na Buk began to gain more residents, so it was separated into a new village called the Mu 10. Baan Rai and Baan Kong Khing could not be separated into another village because their population didn’t meet the criteria set out. As a result, these two villages came together to form a new village called the Baan Rai Kong Khing, Mu 3, which still remains today. It became a well-known village in terms of promoting health and physical well-being thanks to its supply of herbs and a style of living based on sufficiency. The village is known for its simple way of life and uses local wisdom to promote products associated with health tourism.
